Provided you have the winning ticket, this is what it will cost for this 40-plus-mpg Honda Insight hybrid.
Honda is generously donating a brand new 2010 Insight Hybrid to the Liberty Hill Foundation for a raffle to support its environmental efforts, which are focused on the Los Angeles area. Tickets cost all of $100, and the proceeds go to a great cause i.e. the greening of our great city.
Liberty Hill is a force for good in Los Angeles, supporting the efforts of many green-focused individuals and nonprofit organizations in the area. They now have a blog, which we may or may not have helped to inspire, and they’re using it to promote this raffle:
The Honda for A Hundred Insight raffle begins today and ends on May 14th, 2009. Honda for A Hundred raffle tickets may be purchased for $100. All proceeds will benefit Liberty Hill. Liberty Hill has been at the forefront of the new green economy, addressing global warming, and building a clean, green future for all families.
The 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid is a just-off-the-assembly line, aerodynamic car utilizing the latest hybrid technology to provide fun-to-drive performance and superior mileage, officially 40/43 mpg but as high as 60 mpg in highway tests.
No more than 5,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available at www.LibertyHill.org/insight or call at 310-491-1401. The drawing will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2009 at Liberty Hill’s annual Upton Sinclair Dinner.
EcoGeek reviewed the Insight and found that it’s efficiency claims may be understated: “The 2010 Honda Insight, $20,000 hybrid based on the styling of Honda’s hydrogen powered FCX Clarity has just gone on it’s first test drive and, with a careful, efficiency-minded driver, came in at just above 63 mpg (without the air conditioning on.)”

Nice post Rob. Grabbed a ticket, figured I can’t lose either way since it’s a great cause.
