Happy New Year! Best wishes to everyone who’s read, followed, and supported Max Gladwell.
Alas, Twitter was not there to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year (EST). We didn’t even get the fail whale. Service resumed about ten minutes after the ball dropped in Times Square.
Considering the year we’ve had, though, it’s appropriate. Even poetic. Twitter achieved mainstream success despite so many outages and frustrations. The Twitterati proved a defyingly loyal bunch. Meanwhile, we elected Barack Obama (high point), and our economy melted down (low point).
Here’s to taking the best parts of 2008 into 2009, while leaving the rest behind.

Update: Twitter has been spotty ever since. Looks like everyone wants to Twitter in the New Year.

Twitter worked fine for me. I was tweeting along, and following many live tweets. Not sure what you experienced.
In any case, allow me to be your first blog commenter in 2009, Max!

Maybe it was the West Coast. We had nothing.
