West Coast Green: Live Coverage and Twittering #wcg08

September 23rd, 2008 by Max Gladwell · 2 Comments

Max Gladwell sends top thought leaders in “the nexus of social media and green living” to cover the West Coast Green conference.

We’re sending Creative Citizen co-founders Scott Badenoch and Argam DerHartunian to San Jose, California, to cover the West Coast Green conference and expo for Max Gladwell. West Coast Green is one of the largest events of its kind. From Al Gore and Van Jones to David Suzuki, Hunter Lovins and California’s Attorney General, Jerry Brown, the event will be brimming with the best eco-minds in the world. We’re looking to exploring how clean tech can become main tech, as Vinod Khosla coined at last week’s Always On Going Green 100 conference. It’s clear to us that the solutions for the world’s environmental crises will be driven by innovative leaders and entrepreneurs. This conference is certain to capture that spirit.

West Coast Green’s missions is to “revolutionize the way people build and inhabit their homes and workplaces.” With more than 380 exhibitors and a slew of important green leaders speaking, there should be plenty to see.

We’ll be Twittering the event live. You can follow us and other West Coast Green Twitterers by tracking the Twitter tag: #wcg08. You can use two great Twitter tools to follow WCG: Twitter Search (formerly Summize) and Twemes. Or you can simply send a Tweet that says this: “track: #wcg08″. You’ll then see all Tweets with this tag in your main feed. If you’re at the event, please tag your Tweets with #wcg08.

These tools are ubiquitous at social media events, such as last weekend’s BlogWorld. We need more penetration with Twitter in the green space so the rest of the world can follow great events like this in real time.

We’ll follow up next week with a full recap of event highlights.

Update: West Coast Green is offering 20% discount to Max Gladwell readers.
