And the Tweet shall set you free.
Our name is Max Gladwell, and we’re Twitter evangelists. (In virtual reply, “Hi Max!”) We believe that Twitter combines the power of instant messaging, social networking, and blogging into a single platform that is, quite miraculously, more simple than any of these constituent components. We believe that Twitter will be bigger than Facebook. We believe that if the social web melts down and we’re left with the one tool that everyone can actually use, Twitter will be it.
Twitter is listening, participating, creating, mass communicating, and personally connecting. It is Technorati and RSS. It is professional journalism and citizen journalism. It is mundane and profound. It is order and chaos. It is hyperbole and the opposite of hyperbole.
To be clear, we have no affinity for or opinion of those who’ve funded and built Twitter or those who struggle to keep it working. Instead, we have an appreciation for all of the technologies and people who came before it, for the medium itself, and for those of us who make it what it is and will become. Twitter is just the name it was given and the name we’ve adopted as a common reference. It is the term we use to describe the undescribable. Our name is Max Gladwell, and we’re Twitter evangelists.
