Tonight’s Word: U.S. Airweighs

June 12th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Stephen Colbert makes a case that airlines should charge by the pound.

Pay by the pound just like ground round. Being forced to weigh in every time you have to travel will be great motivation to lose that spare tire…not to mention your surplus ass. It’s embarrassing enough when your doctor tells you to get on the scale, now replace your doctor with a ticket agent. Now add 50 people behind you watching…and blogging.”

Colbert is the man! At first, his show wasn’t half as funny as The Daily Show. Now, it rivals its older sibling in yucks per broadcast!

Mr. Sustainable: I agree. Colbert has really come into his own. But it’s much more challenging what Colbert does. Stewart described it as “rendering in real time.” It’s brilliant, but it took time to master.
