ReadWriteWeb posts today about “How to Use Social Media for Social Good”. The author, Sarah Perez, is clearly tracking some of the same buzz sources. The post includes Jeremiah Owyang’s plea for support of The Red Cross in China, Jessica Biel’s new Make The Difference Network, social networking widgets such as Causes, and the recent Online Spin column, Social Media for Social Good.
This is a great article, pointing to the major social value that web platforms can provide. Facebook et all were social networks 1.0 and now the new era will provide further functionality that is practical to the users/viewers. This was exactly the realization we had with our model: wiki + social networking + tangible action-based functionality = very powerful social utility.

Thanks for this extremely important article!
