The Nature Conservancy mobilizes support for its Plant A Billion Trees effort through the Facebook Causes widget:
Earth Day is one week away on April 22nd and we need your help to make it the most successful one ever.
Please help spread the word about plantabillion.org and you can help restore The Atlantic Forest, one of the world’s most endangered tropical forests.
Only 7% of this vast habitat still remains — but there is hope!
The Nature Conservancy is working to restore the habitat and plant one billion trees between now and 2015. Each tree is just one dollar.
How You Can Help:

2. Add the Plant a Billion Trees widget to your facebook page:
3. Invite all your friends and help spread the word about plantabillion.org.

When I was a kid we had a tv show during the school holidays called “Why don’t you” – it’s full title was “Why don’t you turn off the television set and do something more interesting instead”.
Sometimes I feel we should shut the internet down, just for a day, and all go outside and do something more green instead.
