earth2tech offers brief reviews of 10 green social networks. The post provides quick overviews of each. There are several more, including SustainLane and Gaia to name a couple. I’m sure another one just started as we were writing this. But it’s a great overview with some excellent observations.
As part of the Max Gladwell experiment, we will engage and participate in these communities and social networks, both in the green space and the broader social web. Our experiences will be relayed through this blog. We sincerely wish to build a community around these issues as we document how social media is fueling the green (and BLUE) movements. As new applications like Twitter and Ustream.tv become available, it’s not enough for one to observe and report. The social web calls for participation and integration to be fully understood and then utilized for specific objectives.
