Google Earth Day (4.3)

Google Earth

From using mass transit to switching to water filters, Google has created a site where users can post environmentally-friendly tips in honor of Earth Day 2008. The site, Google Earth 4.3, separates these comments by regions throughout the world so users can find those that are particular to their area. In addition to providing tips, the site also includes a section where users can donate funds to a non-profit environmental organization on behalf of someone they know.

Check out this US Carbon Footprint Map, an interactive United States Carbon Footprint Map, illustrating Greenest States to Cities. This site has all sorts of stats on individual State & City energy consumptions, demographics and much more down to your local US City level…

The Google Earth Day 4.3 is a great concept. I made my contribution…and hope you will too. If you find your comment is not loaded immediately, or the interactive map is not functioning well, cut them some stack to work out the bugs. This is another way to learn eco-tips from each other, and make a donation to environmental organizations from Acterra to Wildlife Conservation Society.
